does anyone know where fuse is for windshield washer pump on 2003 2wd tacoma p/u?? I've got battery voltage at 2 of the wires on jack but nothing when i press stick for fluid.no motor hum either. The fluid isn't frozen and I'm thinking I better track down fuse protection before I go out and buy a new pump/motor……….I looked at the labeling on engine compartment fuse box and the one by the drivers left hand but nothing labeled specifically for the pump……….. thanks for any input………..

There is no separate fuse for the washer. The washer motor (pump) is powered off the 20A Wiper fuse, which is located in the fuse block behind the lower left dash.

Here (attached) is the 2000 wiring diagram.

The washer circuit operation is pretty simple. Closing the switch (on the wiper control) connects the motor circuit to ground, and the motor / pump is activated.

I'd suggest starting by checking that you have a solid connection to ground from the wiper control unit. The ground line passes through a connector in the area of the fuse block (lower left dash); maybe you've got a bad connection on that line.

It might also be a failure in the wiper control unit / switch itself.

Do the other wiper functions work?

Old thread revival.

I have a 1997 tacoma and the windshield washer wires have been cut somewhere under the hood. My question is where could I splice the wires inside the truck? Does anyone have a diagram of these wires somewhere near the steering column?

I'm not sure I understand ...

My interpretation is that your washer doesn't work, you believe the wires have been cut, but you don't know where the cut / disconnection is.

Are you sure the wires have been cut or disconnected?

Anyway ...

Here (attached) is the 1997 wiper / washer wiring diagram.

The 3 lines leading from the 20A Wiper fuse all go through the '1A' connector, which should be behind your left kick panel.

Sorry for the confusing post. The washer pumper is actually m.i.a. as well as the wiring to the pump. I wanted to located the wires that goes to the washer switch as I had another use for a momentary switch and this would be perfect. It's within reach while driving and it's fused.
I will look into this, this weekend. Not sure if there is anything behind the kick panel, had them off a few weeks ago.
