i really like the way these look, they are a lil too bright but would go good with my green gauges . . . . . i was gonna go blue because my new pioneer is blue with green buttons . . . . . but i may just go green . . . . . . volt will be easy to hook up, but what about oil pressure ? or should i just get a AFR

The standard ProSport oil pressure sensor / sender is a 1/8" NPT thread (per the ProSport website). You'd need an adapter to mate it to the 1/8" BSPT threading used in the Tacoma block.

There is already a plug on the side of your block where the OEM oil pressure 'idiot light' switch is installed. There's another unused plug very close by on the 5VZ 6-cylinder block (not sure about the 3RZ, though ...) which could also be used. Both are 1/8" BSPT.

If you want to continue having the OEM oil pressure idiot light you'll need to either:

(1) install the new sensor / sender in the unused fitting OR
(2) assemble some sort of T-fitting (or equivalent arrangement) into which both senders can be attached

If you don't care about the OEM idiot light, you can remove the OEM sender and just use the plug / fitting for the gauge sender (with a BSPT adapter).

NOTE: There've been conflicting reports about leaving the OEM idiot light wire / sender unattached. In theory, this should leave your idiot light 'on' at all times. However, at least one CT-zen (fabtaco, if I recall correctly...) claimed his idiot light didn't illuminate with the OEM sender disconnected.

thanks enola, i will probably put a T on it if there isn't already two on there . . . . also that drawing . . . isn't it backwards ? my 3rz the intake comes into the block from the right side . . . . ? so is the oil pressure fittings on the intake side i'm assuming ? thanks again

The 3RZ sensors / senders are on the passenger / starboard side of the block.

Randy's right tojo, the oil pressure sending unit is on the passenger side of the block, down towards the bottom, and toward the front. I've teed into it for a couple of turbo setups. I'm not sure why the pic above is backwards, though  . Oh, and to answer your more than a month old question that I just now noticed :doah: I run a VDO "turbo" gauge and am currently at about 8 lbs of boost. Here's a pic:

DROP THAT TACO where did you get yours at man ? or can anyone find one on the internet that i could buy i wanna get it hooked up so its not just a dummy gauge anymore . . . . . .

BSPT stands for British Standard Pipe (thread) Taper. There's also a BSPP, and the last P is for Parallel.

I was briefly searching for it, and finding anything that's BSP is tough. You'll probably have to use multiple adapters, for instance, a T-fitting with BSPT male X BSPT female (for the sender, I assume) X BSPT female, then connect a BSPT male X 1/4 NPT adapter to it.

More details on BSPT versus NPT can be found here:

There are obscure places (e.g., industrial suppliers, the UK) where one can find 1/8 BSPT - 1/8 NPT adapters. I don't think I've ever seen a 1/8 BSPT - 1/4 NPT adapter.
