Anyone know the size of the oil drain plug gasket for the V6 Tacoma extended cab, auto trans, 4WD? I Brandsport sells a 12 or 18mm gasket.

I dunno. R u talking about the gasket that fits the oil drain plug? If I remember correctly my drain plug has a 14mm head on it and I think the gasket is slightly smaller than the plug itself so I would guess that it's 12mm.

Judging by the title of the thread, I'd say yes!

Try one of the sure drains from fram. You can get them at AutoZone.
This is the site . Its under accessories.
It looks like this:

Makes changing the oil a little easier.

Thanks guys! Yes, the 12 or 18mm refers to the inside diameter of the oil drain plug gasket. Was that 14mm wrench size plug for the V6?

Bing a new Tacoma owner, I'm psyched to see this kind of community. I've see that Fram quick disconnect. Anyone currently using one? I'm a little skeptical of having a quick disconnect on my oil supply.

It's actually a good product. The oil isn't released until you screw on that valve and tube. It's only purpose is to extend the drain so that it's easier to get it in the bucket w/o a big mess.

why are you worrying about the gasket on a brand new truck? I've never replaced mine on my 99 with 100100miles on it If you are really worried about it. Go to a local dealer and buy an oil filter, 2-4 bucks depending on the dealership. The dealership in Manchester NH gives me a free plug gasket with each filter i buy. I've never used the gaskets, your welcome to them if you want. I've got at least 4 of them

is it bad that i dont have a gasket? last time i changed my oil, i noticed there wasnt one on there but was too busy to really think about it...
nah my truck didnt come with one stock, then recently when i got toyota oil filters, i was able to get some.. they work ok, but nothing major.. im liking the fram thing, too bad there isnt any fix for the damn oil filter though! those amsoil filter relocaters go for a pretty penny..
