screw the wire. pop the back window lock or the whole window out.

 

If yours is anything like mine, you won't get a coat hanger wire in there to unlock it. The entire locking mechanism wire is covered by a thick plastic stationary tube. I had to yank the tube out when I put the power locks on mine. Like he said, pop the ext cab glass off. If you only have a single cab, better hope you have full coverage and bust a window out.

if you have a slider, you may be able to pop the slider open by hitting it or you can pull the rear window rubber seal from a corner. Pull HARD and you can pry the window out. I've done it.

 

well, when i did this recently, i called Toyota. see, i paid for the roadside assistance when i bought my taco, but anyway. the guy that came out was just some regular truck modder like me, even had a pik of his truck in his wallet.. how cute. so anyway, basicly he pulled out this thing that looked almost EXACTLY like a wire hanger, but stronger. it had a strong tip in it and it used the window for leverage, pushing against the lock, and pulling it up. he first asked me if i cared that my lock might have a few scratches in it. i of course could care less. popped it right away. mind you, this is after 20 min of him trying a slim jim.

 

My pass side door doesn't work cuz somebody tried to break in... Scratches on my window but they never got in

 

i open cars in like 20 sec... no joke.... only car i couldn't get w/ a coat hanger was some old crappy something, i forget... i don't even know how!!!! i just put it in, play with the handle soon as it clicks, bam your in...
take call a cop, they will do it for you....

Go to the dealer, give them your VIN and have them cut you a new key.....$4-$8.

Or if you are determined on using a hanger you have to bend it so that it will come up on the other side of the glass and then you have to be able to get enough friction between the hanger and the lock tab to pop it up.

Another east way is to make a W shape using a coat hanger. You just slip in the door and bring it back up on the other side of the window. Then push down and hit the door unlock botton. Only works if you have power locks.

Ditto on the ditto. Except one time I went camping and took everything out of my pockets so I didn't lose anything dirt biking and then I hit the lock just by force of habit!

Thank God that there was this tore up shack in the woods and the ONLY thing in it was an old coat hanger, I swear, true story.

 

I hide a key underneath my truck, it was there when i bought the truck, took me a while to find it, but now that i have it has been usefull alot of times

 

my family has my extra key. that comes in handy if something happens. i've only locked keys in twice. *wipes forehead*. i've been pretty lucky so far.
