Any interest in a 2TR turbo manifold?

Hey folks,

I was wondering if there is any demand for a 2TR turbo manifold similar to my 22rte manifold?

http://www.steedspeed.com/22rte_internal_wastegate_turbo_manifold

This one is internal gate which makes it simpler to build but I could also do external gate version too.

Let me know if this is something you guys would like.

LOL!

Absolutely zero interest. Good job I didn't design one for LC Engineering when they asked me about this. I'm surprised there isn't more interest in boosting these motors as I sell tons of 22rte manifolds and they are ancient compared to these motors.

I am sure there is interest, just nobody on here willing to step up. (myself included :D). Mine is a DD, and I won't be seriously dumping or boosting until there is another vehicle in the driveway.

That said, I really like the redesign of your 22re manifold with external gate. The one you sent WOPracing is working great. (I am Greggs roommate/co-driver). :waytogo:

i'd think the major problems would be that its still a newer truck, not many prople have messed with them boost wise.. also, many of them are still in warranty.
on a side note. i'm sure the manifolds you make flow well and make decent power, but they look just a bit odd, and definitely unconventional.

Could be right on the truck being too new. As far as my manifolds go. My BMW manifold is used on the highest power M3s on the planet with the last one I sent out putting 1400whp. My Caliber manifold raised power from 535whp to 595whp with no other changes. I know they aren't the usual style and I even have a patent on the production method but they perform fantastic and are virtually indestructible.

My guess is that anyone with a 2TR is using it as a DD, and doesn't want to mess around with it that much yet. Maybe once people start picking them up as straight project vehicles?
Probably right there.

i'd be interested in getting a 5/8" flange, but HTF would that mani fit in the bay of a 2trfe motor?? how would you deal with the egr?
Not planning on putting that manifold in there. I will be designing a new manifold just for the 2TR which will be similar to my Caliber manifold. How do people deal with EGR on the 3RZ?

By the looks of things I will need to wait a couple of years before I get into these though.

there is plenty of demand for them, especially people on here, but like stated above, money and having to drive the truck to work everyday are big factors, i totally gave up on anyone designing a turbo mani for the 2tr, i even sent paradise my stock manifold(for free) just so they could start a turbo mani build, and guess what, nothing, havnt seen or heard about any turbo mani from paradise, i think im gunna go the S/C route now anyways, since there is already a kit out for that, and its a rotrex charger too, same stuff that urd sells, so its gotta be good, but if i had a backup vehicle then i would be turboin' my truck in a heart beat, no doubt about it

BUT.....if you produce this manifold, and later down the road i get another vehicle and my truck isnt my DD anymore, then i would/will be all over this

Perhaps I'm the first but I guarantee not the last. I'm interested in a 2TR turbo - if the performance is there. I just paid off my 05 and am now ready to put that payment to more fun work.

2TR is a great engine! Paired with the 5 speed and 4x4, this puppy's a blue belly lizard looking for an arroyo. But it could use a little more power, I can feel that it's there.

There will be more like me coming soon. Mine is a DD but I also explore the southwest deserts with it every season. If I break it, my bad.

Luv my 05 4 banger Taco and am looking forward to helping it achieve its higher power!

I think you guys probably have the answer. The truck is too new right now. It's funny but I sell 22rte manifolds all the time but hardly any 3RZ manifolds and 2TR I don't even get requests.

If I design one I will most likely go with a similar design to my IWG 22RTE manifold to keep the cost down below $500. I'm sure this motor will be a blast on boost! Even my old 20R was a screamer at 7800 rpms so I'm sure these newer motors are a much better base than that.
