05 Horn Mod

I noticed this morning that there are thin metal plates that clip on to the horns on the 05's. Thinking to myself....this looks lame, if you cover the horns with a plate...wouldn't they be quieter? The answer is YES. I grabbed a flathead, and popped them off in about 15 seconds....and wella!! The horn is about 10dB louder.

i had the same horn put on my bike and on the freeway its sound intermitently fades away, but when the bike's stationary it'll make sound.
so i'm guessing that plate protects it from elements, ie. wind blowing into the diaphragm and ruining the sound, like PhoComa said.

wow the "train horn" seems a bit overkill, was it expensive?... can you get it to play the cucarracha?
