locker..., theres usually someone with a winch that can pull you out, but if you have a locker, chances are you wont get stuck
I say locker(s). What if there is nothing to hook the winch to? And if you still get stuck then have a tug strap. To conquer an obstacle will take less time too! GOD DAMN I miss 4x4ing!!:waytogo:
i was planning to put a locker on my truck too. just the front i have an 07 tacoma trd sport any suggextions
get a good locker and get a cheap harbor freight winch lol
Lockers. This way you can wheel instead of working.

from my experience off road (which is quite a bit) front lockers are a waste and dangerous as in they like to break stock stuff in the front but thats just me.

A yota in 2wd with a good driver and a locker is like most 4wd trucks.

Lockers usually aren't needed up front, but the harder trails people are running now a days and if a person is really serious about not having to get out and use a winch on a crazy trail, one in front will definitely assure that you get through the toughest of stuff. If you've ever been in a vehicle with lockers (that actually work) in front and back, there isn't much that'll stop it. They'll gnaw their way up and through just about anything. Better have a fat wallet though.
I vote winch simply because even with lockers I could get myself stuck alot. Sure, I could go more places without getting stuck, but my goal when offroading was to push the limit, so getting stuck was just part of the adventure.
most run limited slip up front, locked rear.

I have an old jeep, with 50/50 weight distribution, as soon as i lock it front and rear i may as well rename it m1a1 abrams, because nothin will stop it ;p
