will the turbo described below work on a 2.4l? I'm fairly new, and in need of some expert help up here. I can't seem to find any one in VA Beach area with a taco that is turbo'd to chat with? Also if it is, what would you pay for this??? :waytogo:

The cold side is A/R .60
The Hot side is 1.32

There is some shaft play but i dont know if its out of spec
I dont know what this is from i got it on a trade for some sterio equipment about 3 years ago and its been sitting on the shelf ever since

I don't have a turbo taco but that seems kinda large for a turbo.....
Is it a T3/T4 ?
this is actually all the information I have on it right now.
holy **** i agree with zip. my taco has A T3/T4 Turbonetics .48 hot side .63 cold side. fully spooled around 32000-3400 at 8 psi. im happy with it. no very ideal for daily city driving but all depends wat you want man. starts spooling almost right away

This is great info... I really need to know what to look for in a turbo for around here... I mostly drive on the highways... but really I just want to be able to shut up some of the little honda's that are around here...

What do you guys suggest...

Here are some p\other ones that I am able to get with no problems... Garrett T40E T3/T4 Turbo or a TD04 off of my 07 WRX Limited no pictures though..
like it was posted before that one is way too big, is it off a diesel?

if you dont mind spending money for a quality turbo I am very happy with the borg warner I purchased from paradise racing, shoot him a pm he will get you set up.

if i had to choose id say go with the garrett. the TD04 is the stock turbo on a wrx right? id go bigger than that. How much you willing to spend on this project. im building my taco right now for 20 psi. engines out and ready for the machine shop.
But like utiXrunner said if you dont mind spending some money go with a borg warner
anyone know where luis from paradise racing is at??? i cant get a hold of him. ive been trying for 2 weeks now!
COld side looks like it will work, maybe you can get another (smaller ) turbine housing for it?

I am running 19psi on stock internals with a GT3076R Garrett. I have heard good things sbout the Borg warner turbos as well though.

I wish money was of no object for me but it is, money is the hold up for me, I would like to start to part together a turbo setup, right now I have a budget that is keeping me at 400 - 500... what would you suggest I get in prep?
$400-500 wont get you far unfortunately...might get you a manifold?
If you would like a tdo4 i have two of them 100 plus shipping you can have one:evil:

Well the great part about getting a manifold is that I have a cousin that is willing to make a custom manifold for me once I'm ready. As well with helping me get everything installed and tuned.

OH yeah on top of this, I'm also looking at ordering a pro clutch and lightweight flywheel from lcengineering. Any comments or suggestions on this as well? I haul a 1700lb boat and don't want to be stuck at the dock trying get my boat out with a burnt clutch. Right now the stock one is holding up but I am definitely upgrading this first. This is not part of the budget mentioned earlier.

He runs big dog cars (old nova, and Chevelle's) and he owns a garage. The only problem is he is about 4 - 5 hours away from me. Weekend trips only..

There seems to be a lot of confusion about choosing a flywheel. LCEngineering tells you to buy one of their clutches if you buy a lightweight flywheel. But they also tell you a lightweight flywheel is for light vehicles with small tires. Tacomas can be considered light vehicles, but many people have 20" rims or heavy mud tires. It makes it hard to figure out. I haven't heard of anyone ever being disappointed by the lightweight flywheel though.
