1998 Tacoma V6 4x4 automatic truck
Both front tires are leaning out at the bottom and passenger side wheel is setting closer to the backside of the front fender well than the drivers side wheel.
WHAT HAPPENED
I had to avoid a driver with no tail lights and skidded off road hitting a smaller cut in half telephone poll someone had laying in front of abandoned house. The post hit up under the truck. All I have replaced is the tie rod that was bent pretty bad. Looking for help in what to look at that might be causing the wheel setback on the side that took the hit as so far I have been unable to find any stress marks or visual bent parts. THANKS IN ADVANCE

(1) Welcome to CT!

(2) Is your Taco's front suspension completely stock, or has it been modified in any way (e.g., lifts; non-stock components)? If modified - please specify what all has been modified.

(3) Did you run over / onto the telephone pole with the pole lying sideways (left-to-right) or long-ways (front-to-back) relative to your truck?

(4) What (specifically) did the pole hit underneath your front end? Steering rack? Transfer case? Etc., etc.

(5) Was there any body damage that only makes it appear the passenger side wheel is now sitting farther back in the wheel well, or are you confident it's really been shoved backward?

(6) Just so we're clear on this ... Are the bottom-most points on both front wheels sitting farther out / outboard than the top-most points on both wheels?

(7) Can you post some photos so we can see the situation?

☆ The suspension is completely stock
☆ I hit the telephone laying long ways hitting the pole on the end middle ways up. The truck has a mount for towing behind RV and I could tell it had been hit and it looks as if the lower control arm was hit. The rubber damper that is there for suspension travel doesn't look to line up correctly with the wear mark below
☆ There is no body damage except from where the bed cover moved forward into the back of the cab
☆ Correct on the wheels both bottoms are sitting out with the tops leaned in towards the inside of the fender. The drivers side is not as bad as the passenger side.
☆ I will post some pictures asap as the truck is at my parents house at the moment. The truck is actually my father's and of course I had to be the one driving it when the issue occurred

Thanks for the additional info.

Without seeing some photos I can't tell how serious the damage may be.

Hmmmm ...

It's actually less gruesome than I thought it might be.

It appears to me there was a passenger side front mud flap that was torn off, and there's at least one bolt (for the fender flare piece) that's loose.

Is the lower end of the flare hanging loose and simply appearing to be closer to the tire than the driver side?

Sorry I haven't been able to get back up with you but the fender is still tight, I did see the screw you mentioned but that's where loose from where I removed the mud flap myself (sorry I forgot to mention that). This is a picture of the old tie rod up next to the new one I installed so you can see how bad it was bent.

Ouch ... Now I see how badly distorted things could have been. The bent tie rod wasn't visible in the earlier photos.

In a collision center we would start measuring your frame and suspension mount points. It's not to hard you can do a lot of length measurements on one side and compare to other side. You can use holes in frame and then go to suspension mount locations. You can also measure a x in the middle of the truck and see if the frame is square still.(google or utube may show images of what I mean. I would ask is the gaps at back of cab and front of the bed the same or off as well. Like is one side bigger than the other.
