turn signal/parking light mod

i wanna make my parking lights double as my turn signals and turn the stock turn signals into fog lights. the fog lights will be simple. my dad has a 01 tundra and the parking lights double as turn signals. i was wondering if anyone used the sockets from tundra parking lamps for the mod?
i know where i can get some dirt cheap just wondering if its worth a try :shrug:

I used gm sockets from auto zone and retrofitted them to the park light housing. I heated and open up the park light. And dremeled out the hole for the gm socket and designed it to click in. So I used 1157 ( I think) bulbs. For my park light and it would flash the high side for signal. I have some pics in my photo gallery.

Wiring I tapped the power wire from the stock signal and ran it up to the gm socket the had 3 wired and tap the positive and ground from my park light to it.

Ran it for a long time with no problems.

thats the way i was planning on wiring it but i figured the tundra sockets would probally fit in the light like the stock socket :thinking:

I didn't see any picture of your corner marker conversion process in your gallery.

that says the tundra takes a 3157. my tacoma parking lamps are 168. which 3157 and 168 i believe the plugs are the same at the bottom just the 3157 are a bigger bulb where the filament is

I'm not sure the 168's and 3157's use the same sized socket ... :thinking:

168/194 are wedge,

hum thought i had pics...

it not hard to do took me about an hour and a half. there i no way a duel filiment bulb will fit with out boring the hole.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure 3157's use a bigger socket.

i wasnt positive on that but even if i have to bore it i can get the tundra sockets for free so i figured why not

Worse come to worse epoxy them in and add quick connects to the wiring and use long life bulbs

So if one blows u have to heat and remove lens replace bulb. Re heat and zealot up and put it back on

thats a good idea. well im gonna try to pick up the stuff to do it this weekend and ill post how it works when its all done

I don't believe the 01-04 corners can be seperated easily..
I tried.. no good..

i got a 2000 :nana: plus their aftermarket lenses

So 98-00 = 1
01-04 = 0
my clears came apart easy.
