Truck shut off while driving

I was on my way to PT on a highway. pulled at a light. turned green i got on it, shifted to second, then the truck shut off after being in second for like 3 seconds...just shut off...pulled to the side and popped the hood, nothing seems unusual at all. no wierd smells, nothing...no leaks under the truck. the only CEL in the scangauge is the one for my rear O2 sensor missing. scangauge says its in open loop.

after a few minutes it started again, put it in first, and died after running for 15 feet.

when i put the key in and turn it i dont hear the fuel pump kicking on...not too sure what would cause it
just got towed home...

it turns over and over and over but doesnt start
what could it be

First off - remind us ... Is your engine setup totally stock, or ... ???
sorry bout that Enola...i recently sold my supercharger so now im left with the URD fuel upgrade kit(bigger injectors, 195? walboro, and tuner) headers, urd crankshaft pulley, uhh.....
new clutch n flywheel....

the only change to the truck lately(last 3 weeks?) have been:replaced supercharger with stock intake, new clutch n flywheel.

also, with the key in the on position, my abs light was flashing fast
check ur fuel pump i did same thing on freeway and wouldnt start just kicked over i had no fuel pump clicking so took it out and the fuel pump had fell off the supply tube

yeah ill do that first thing tomorrow...if thats the case i already have a bigger fuelpump ready to drop in...

if not then what else could it be guys?
Same thing happened to me in my old S10, turns out the fuel pump had come disconnected.
I gotta hand it to you, mitzu ...

... Nobody f**ks up an S-Runner like you do!

But seriously ...

It would greatly help in narrowing down the possible causes for this bizarre batch of symptoms if you check to see if you're getting *both* fuel and spark.

Meanwhile, I've got a couple of really off-the-wall theories that'll require me to study some wiring diagrams ...

Question: What (if any) electrical connections did you have to disconnect / reconnect when you dismounted the supercharger? If there are any, I'd suggest you re-check them when you check for fuel and spark.

:cussing:OMMMGGG Enola dont even:lol::lol::lol:
i tell my friends all the time that my trucks soo damn reliable but when i think about it...the electrical issue sucks ass but that wasnt my fault-new taillights fixed it kinda(right blinker still blinks faster)....the surging problem wasnt my fault either(although i should have replaced the supercharger belt a lil while ago)...and yes there are other issues out there but hey my truck aint stock what can i do

anywhoo.... yes ill triple check all the connections tomorrow. i have a feeling its getting no fuel. ill definitely check the spark too.

but all joking aside, thanks alot guys for helping me out throughout all these issues

tillers????:jawdrop: out of the Off-Topic forum??? is this a joke?

This is the weirdest part of all ...

There's no normal operation of the ABS warning circuit that should result in the ABS warning lamp flashing quickly. And I haven't yet found an explanation for why a fuel pump (or associated wiring) failure would cause this.

However ...

If you bridge two terminals of the DLC3 (diagnostics) connector, the ABS light will flash quickly, and you can crudely read ABS diagnostic codes from the pattern of the flashing.

... Which raises the scary possibility of something shorted, screwy, or fried in the diagnostic wiring - or even the ABS ECU and / or the ECM.
Do you still have the split second in there?
Do you still have the PLX in there?
voodoo yes the split second is still there...the truck ran fine with it and i was told the AFRs i was getting were within normal range so i never bothered tuning it more since it was running fine...

Enola, i hope nothing that bad is going on with it, im really hoping its just the fuel pump:(

voodoo if by PLX you mean my wideband then yes its still plugged in but i wasnt payin attention to what AFR it was reading when it went off, and without the truck running it wont give me an accurate reading

what i dont understand with this is why it would happen while im driving, not BEFORE....i mean nothing happened before, and i didnt do any splicing or anything that might have caused it...the only thing that could have happend would be shorting of some wires but i didnt mess with any wires.
For the time being, my #1 theory is something that involves wiring or an electrical fault. A bad fuel pump would explain the truck stopping and not starting again, but it wouldn't explain the ABS light flashing.

A bad EFI relay is another one of my suspects ...
for my sake, i hope youre wrong on the electrical part Enola...i HATE electrical problems and idk why my truck has em

any ideas what would be a good way to test the fuel pump ?
Here's the FSM procedure for checking the 5VZ fuel pump ....

took the fuel return hose off, turned the key, fuel squirted out....so its not the fuel pump

How tough would it be for you to bypass the split second box and wire the ECU as if it were stock? If it's not a ton of work, it may be worth a shot...

A good handful of us on here have had to buy new split second units cause the originals died -- but on that same note, we weren't having the exact same problem as this (camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction was the most common code thrown for us, but it wasn't always thrown). Sorry Mike, just a random thought

Let me know if I can help.
tyler im not getting a check engine light anymore since i unplugged the battery and the codes reset..no CEL(and i only had the rear o2 light on before).
the Split Second wires are soldered in so id probablly have to cut them to disconnect it from the ECU.

so im getting FUEL but NO SPARK...just checked and definitely no spark
all other connections i had to unplug when removing the supercharger are plugged in(just checked....
