truck purchase??

Hey guys. My names chris, Im new to the toyota scene and knowledgeable with the bagged truck scene Im mainly a american muscle guy. Well I have come across the opportunity to purchase a 2000 Toyota Tacoma standard cab 5 spd bagged on 20in foose's. body has been shaved (doors, tailgate and has 4wd front fenders) It needs paint but the truck is black w black primer so not a huge deal, the truck is suppose to have 70k miles The suspension looks done right it has a four link in the rear . The seller is non local and I would be driving 6 hours to get the truck. Hes asking 4500 obo.

The price seems decent im just curious if theres anything mechanically i should have to worry about on this year make and model. I just dont want to get into someone elses basket case is all

The #1 answer to this on *any* 1998 - 2000 Taco nowadays would be frame rust.

If you're not familiar with the 1995.5 - 2000 frame rust / extended warranty campaign that began in 2008, check the sticky thread at the top of the Exterior section.

Other than that, I can't think of any widespread mechanical issues relating to a 2000 5-lug Regular Cab.
