TPMS sensor fitment

I am looking into getting new wheels and tires for my truck (08 2WD 5 lug) and was wondering if I will have any issues taking the TPMS sensors off the stock wheels and putting them on the wheels I plan to get? Here are the wheels....

discount tire can answer all of your questions specifically for this fitment interchangeability..
If you have the opportunity to see the new wheels in person (e.g., at a store) it might be a good idea to bring in your spare's TPMS to see if it would have any clearance issues fitting up to the new rims.
When I bought rims and tires for my truck the TPMS wouldn't fit in the new rims so I purchased a small wheel barrel tire and had Discount tire put all 5 of the TPMS in it. Shoved the wheel barrel tire in the bed of my truck and let it go at that. Periodically I have to put air in the W/B tire but it's a small inconvenience.
Talked to a guy at Discount tire and he said I should have no problem with fitment of the sensors on the new wheels. He said since the stock wheels are the steel wheels and not the aluminum ones that they should fit fine on the new steel wheels; sensors off aluminum wheels will have issues with new steel wheels and vice-versa. Only problem I have now is that they want $150 to switch them out!!:looney: How hard is it to remove the tpms sensors from the stock wheels with tire still mounted and put them on the new wheels (tires mounted)? I have removed tpms sensors before on Porsche wheels with the tire not on the rim and wasn't hard at all. Any special tools needed for the Tacoma sensors? The older Porsche tpms sensors require a special tool to remove them.
TIA

 That's a damn good idea, might take that into consideration for some time being. Would really like to utilize TPMS system tho. Thanks for the idea tho!:waytogo:
TPMS is such a crock of crap.. just get in the habit of checking your tires..
The $150 is to dismount, uninstall the TPMS and reinstall the tires with a new valve stem..
If you want to utilize the TPMS, you know what its going to cost ya unless you go to another shop to have them swapped out cheaper..
Either way, its going to cost ya..

wheelbarrel tire FTW!!!!
wheelbarrel tire FTW!!!!
AHAHA, yah i think I will just go that route for the time being. Maybe I could hang the wheel barrel tire from my back bumper like all the ricers do with the stuffed animals ...kidding. I already check my tire pressure religiously even with the tpms system so I don't think I will have a problem without em. Just thought it'd be nice to utilize it since it's one of the "safety features" that comes with the truck.

I'd just lower your spare and toss it in there ;)

Where did you get your wheel barrel tire? Home Depot only had ones with inner tubes in them....
