Quesion. I'll be moving out to KY from CA in February and have to get a Ryder Rental truck and tow my Taco behind. Does anyone know if you have to do anything special to tow the truck? I was going to get one of those tow dollies that you just put the two front wheels on. Thanks for any info.

I thought you were supposed to put the drive wheels on the dolly, so the truck would be backwards. I'm no towing expert though.

You DO NOT have to disconnect the speedo unless you have a purely mechanical speedo. put the truck in neutral and shut the motor off while driving. if the speedo drops to 0 (as my '01 does), it's electronic, and won't register miles with the ignition off.

Best thing is to get a full trailer. Much safer. those dollies aren't the greatest!

Thanks for the info guys. I think you're right about the full trailer instead of the tow dollie. Besides, the government is picking up the tab. That, and a full trailer will save my tires.
