Well....i just ordered my 20% snap tint for the front windows from URD. Any advice before i tackle this (and probably **** up)? Obviously go slow and be careful...anything i REALLY need to know? Besides the fact that it'll make my ride look :headbang:

I tried once on my gf's car... didn't take long for me to figure out it was much easier to take it somewhere for $100...

ya... take it to a tint shop... :D :D

I agree... It should take a tint place about an hour to do the seven windows.
It will be cheaper in the long run.

But since you want to learn the hard way...

Plan to take your time.
Clean the window with something that won't leave a residue.
Scrape it clean with a razor.
Use a nail file to trim the edges, just run it along the edge.

EDIT: HOLY SPIT... what kit did you buy? That is EXPENSIVE. (that seems a lot more expensive than the 3M stuff I used to use to tint air traffic control towers and building windows, and that 3M is some of THE best on the market as far as UV protection and warranty)
Damn... I hope they give or sell little amounts in case you screw one window up... is it all pre cut?

Add one more step... Buy some lube next time before you get screwed.

You forgot some....

Use curse words sparingly (you'll have to spread them out over the length of the day)
When you just can't get that air bubble out, punch it..
After punching air bubble, proceed to emergency room to have hand stitched up.
After being discharged, swallow pride and take to tint shop... :D :D

time patience, if you have that you can do it like i did.
it will make it easy if you take the rubber gasket off the window and your door panel off the the rest is cleanin the window and putting the tint on. but if you paid to get the pre cut tint you can waste more money and go get someone to proffessionaly do it haha. i went cheap on mine ive done over 20 tint jobs for friends and me.

Being your first time, and having no extra tint, and the fact that it's not really a DIY job:shrug: URD should put the facts about window tinting up on their site so people don't waste money once they read what is involved. But we know that won't happen.

check your PM's though... I gave you some tips and advice.

PS... You didn't use lube this time though, so you can't fart it in my face.

Use lots of your slip solution, baby shampoo and water is recommended. Once you think the glass is clean, clean one more time just to make sure to get most of the dust. I did my own and i only got contamination in one noticeable area, good luck, tests your patience thats for sure
