i think there was an article here a long time ago about widening out rear fenders with a bottle jack, but i can't find it despite all my best efforts. anyone remember this or am i going crazy?

ive seen it done two ways. one, use an sir grinder and take out the lip in the fender. the other, use a small aluminum (2 inch) rod and roll it through the fender. you would put it in there, and push the car to roll it out. my brother did both this on his old car and it worked great.

wow that tire rack tool is a pretty good looking piece yet way over priced. but liek jon said the tube on the tire trick always worked for me. when you mentioned bottle jack it reminded me of when i flred the bedsides on my pre taco. i cut the rear inner fender and used a 2x4 and a bottle jack to push the bed side out an inch. then added a section inside to hold it out and fill the new gap.
