Hello Everyone,
I am a Pastor as my forum name says and my church is Community Bible Church, Eckerman, MI. Even though I am a Pastor, I love to wrench, and wrench and wrench, and then WRENCH SOME MORE!
I have a 2009 Tacoma V6, 6spd(#save the manuals). Barcelona Red!
I have plans of becoming an Overlander. I am 48, and single and I take care of my 86 yr. old mom and my 84 yr. old dad. I have a Lhasa Apso puppy, and live in the U.P.
In my mind, if I totaled my truck, I promise I would literally rebuild it from scratch. This is my third Tacoma, and I love them immensely........I'M ADDICTED! I know, not good for a pastor right😏. I have a human side for sure, and it's a work of God in progress.
My favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:33,"Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you."
See you on the forums......Brian

My truck has an almost diesel sounding tick in the engine when it gets close 2k rpm's.

I just put manifold cats on it. I was getting P043O literally for a year off and on.
I tuned it up with plasma plugs, and RIPP supercharger coils.
I changed my oil in october and the level is spot on.
I did the VSV washer hack, it kinda worked when I had it disconnected, and then when I put it back it started again or it just didn't work, not sure.
I changed my coolant, drained the block and rad, new hoses, thermostat.
I put an LC Engineering Clutch on it(there's is a CLUTCH MASTER'S). I put the steel sleeve and larger bearing, a larger flywheel, and all the other clutch stuff.
I put a cheap o CIA($61 bucks on ebay. It sounds like my old K&N from my 01 Tacoma 3rz).

I wonder if your valves are out of adjustment?

Update, I fogged my engine with SEAFOAM through my throttle body and the smoke came out of the driver side manifold. When my friend put them on he put silver antiseize on the studs because he had to chisel some nuts off.
Was this wrong. I did find some loose, but there is always ONE that i can't get to. I have to check the rest of the exhaust. I have been driving it, and my gas mileage is 😝🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Any other suggestions? Did I diagnose right?
