SR5 2WD 22RTE Turbo Pickup Owners

I had a 1986 SR5 xcab Turbo with the 22rte. Since sold it and most of the parts I had. Great truck and a blast to drive and race. Ran a 14.6 with basic mods, FMIC, 440cc injectors, Supra AFM, stock turbo on 14psi.

I was hoping to keep it stock. But, it's so hard to since there is so much I can do to improve it. Any regrets on selling your truck?

Had one last year,All original,glossy blue paint,no rust,80K miles bought for $3000 I sold it for $6000..

I got a 1986 turbo 4runner with a 5 speed manual. I love it and I am planning to install a intercooler and turn the boost up.

What is the tranny out of? 4runner turbo's ALL came with an auto... if it's an r151f.. it's a really good tranny.. they sell for $750 used with the t-case...

At times I regret selling it but I got a ton for it and its parts. I actually have a R151 5psd from the truck sitting in my shop if anyone needs one. it has the bellhousing and tailstock for a 2wd.

5 only?> i've NEVER seen a turbo toyota pick up or 4runner, (but i have seen a few turbo diesel runner's and pickups).. luckyyyy

I saw the dropped dark blue truck at Lexus the other week. Has the supra clear 3rd brake light...you guys probably know this truck...very sweet. I think his brother has the dropped 4Runner.

Tranny came out of a turbo toyota truck. I did a manual tranny swap and a turbo swap at the same time.

That's awesome.. you've got the best toyota tranny and best t-case made for any truck from 79-present... 5 spd manual with a low 1st gear, 23 spline t-case... cool stuff.
You grab the digital dash as well?

no I got the regular dash in there.

those trucks are the shiet but u gotta do alot just to make it fast, I get couple friends with those trucks still into the mini scene..:funnyup:

Incorrect, my uncle had one that I learned how to drive 5 speed in..

he just drove it sence new.. He had to sell or trade it because his legs and back couldnt handle the 5 speed life anymore..

from what Ive heard, only a scarce few came that way according to what the sales guy told him when he bought it.. He never took the back half off..

I just bought an 85 2wd turbo. excellent shape, 160k miles aftermarket TEC turbo with about 5k miles on it. Truck was in a garage and the coil went out and the owner just left it, 10 years ago! I know I need to change all the fluids and flush the fuel system before I fire it up, but what do I need to do to the turbo? Any clues?
