the 2.7 have the w58's which are the same size around as the r150f... mose 2.4s have a w59 or a w55 plus the overdrive gear!

The only W-series manual transmission listed / cited in any 2001 - 2004 Tacoma FSM is the W59.

... And I find no applications listings showing any W-series tranny other than the W59 *ever* being OEM equipment on a 1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma.
