never heard of it..
swap in a rusty frame:evil:can i make mine fail?
Dont be a dick good sir!never heard of it..
That is not true, they have no control of that truck until you sign the title and take the check. No you can't get money and keep the truck. It's either give up the truck and get money or sign a waiver and keep the failed truck with no money. If it fails they won't let you take it home to remove stuff so do all that before you bring it in.
Is your frame all that bad? All it takes to fail is making holes in the frame with a ball pean hammer.
You can but it wont do you any good. You're out of warranty, its only good for 15 years.can i make mine fail?
Good point. I dont remember if its the manufacturing date or the purchase date.:thinking:It's 15 years from the purchase date. The 95 model wasn't available until the second half of 95 right? So technically none would expire until half way through 2010.
All the key documentation on the 1995.5 - 2000 frame campaign (which started in spring 2008) can be found in this sticky thread in Exterior:I have a 1998 Tacoma and I was talking with a guy at a gathering about the snow an how my truck handled in the snow AWESOME, anyway he said there was a recall on some of the late model toyota's dealing with bad frame or something allong that line. Do you guys know anything about it or has this happened to someone. Supposedly they buy back your vehicle above face value. Hard to believe but figured someone here would know. ...
Dude removed both front fenders, grill, bumper AND the air bag and they still bought the truck back. :lol:Check out this TTORA thread. I dont suggest you go as far as this guy did, but it gives you an idea of how much you can take off.
