****ty, sorry to hear

goodluck on the fix:waytogo:
Wasn't there a recall on these?

edit: sorry that was on the 2010's... maybe they should extend that one too..

Have you posted on TTORA and other Tacoma forums? If not, you might want to do that.

Sounds to me like you don't have the luxury of being able to wait for someone to show up with a used front propeller shaft assembly. I'd go ahead and order a replacement, then see if a used one happens to show up before you have to commit to using the new one.
take it to a shop and have them weld it up..

It broke free in the road so I lost that piece :(
Thats not a common problem, what do you think caused it?
Probably doing this kind of stuff but I haven't even hit dirt in over a month :(

or a bad U joint causing vibrations...

a driveshaft shop can still fix it, id call around.
I've had bad vibes for the past 2 months :doah: and I've been trying different shims to fix it. I had just installed 3.5 degree shims when it gave a mile from my house in the rain with no cell phone :brickknoc

I ran home lol
yeah try welding a different U joint onto the driveshaft

get rid of the ****ty parts, and use some good ones and be the only guy around with upgrades:D

weld the ujoint?
weld the ujoint?
like weld a different type of u joint onto the driveshaft, not some toyota oem part

so that doesn't break again,
instead of replacing with the same parts and it happening again:shrug:

might needa like re balance your driveshaft or whatever..but probably worth it
dont think the U joint broke, i think the metal broke around it.

u dont weld ujoints
4WD or Pre-runner?

Edit: Nevermind, I just looked at your 1 pic and I dont see front CV's. I was going to say just kick it in 4hi with the rear drive shaft out.
When I get home I'll drop the front section of my drive shaft and go to some drive line shops tomorrow. Hopefully they can fix it.:runaway:
Your powertrain warranty will probably cover that... How many miles are on your truck?

your not understanding what I'm talking about:lol:

maybe, but there is a reason it did that, if he has to adjust the angle, hes probaly lifted...which i would think would void the warranty, also a U joint would be like brake pads, as general maintenance, so if it was a bad u joint that cause the vibration to cause it to break, i doubt that toyota would fix it.

when you replace the U Joint, buy a greasable one
