I'm thinking about powdercoating the faces of my chrome rims black. Can someone do a photoshop for me? I want to keep the outer rim chrome as well as the center cap. Thanks in advance.

in my opinion i think that a:badidea:

if you spent the moent for chrome rims, i would keep them.

mayeb consider buying a second set that would be factory powder coated:shrug:

Mine as well buy new wheels. The cost to strip chrome is expensive!!!! Then to powdercoat on top of that is rediculous. I'd say AT LEAST $200 per wheel at a dealer cost.

Quick and dirty photoshop but you get the idea. Looks pretty good but I have to agree that you'd be best off just selling them and buying some new black ones instead.

Oh man, thanks for that PS. I would have been pissed if I did that to my brand new rims. That looks terrible. What I really want is a nice staggered set that I can use with 2/3 drop. The tricky thing is how do I know what sizes and offset to get. Do I get the drop first and take measurements somehow? I have a good idea of what sizes I want according to the size of these chrome wheels but I'm not exactly sure. Here is the style I like:

Yeah you'd be best off doing the drop first and then you'll know for sure what your clearances are.

Then use this offset calculator to determine how much more/less the new wheels will protrude inwards/outwards compared to the ones you have right now.

Nice choice of wheels! I'm running some RO_JA Formula 5's on my truck right now and they make amazing forged wheels.
I'm putting a wider staggered set of wheels on my bagged taco so I just wet through the same thing trying to figure out the max sizes.
