I'll have a real pic up soon, I didn't know my other one wasn't showing up. Sorry all. Anyway, if someone could put together a tutorial on how to paint the brake calipers I think it would be great. It is easy to do and cheap, plus it totally improves the look of the truck (espically for those of us with 17s or bigger). I did it without removing the parts first. It would be nice to know how to do it the right way though.

I thought I'd include some pics of when I did mine. Keep in mind that I didn't take anything apart, I just used a lot of news paper and masking tape. I got the job done, but now its starting to fade. If I took things apart I could have done a better quality job. I was too afraid of braking my brakes (hehe, do you get it? do ya?)

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. My brake drums are starting to look a little rusty..which looks bad cause my wheels show it off.

Perhaps you could write up a short ditty on how to do all of this, what paint to buy, etc. Remember, tech submissions entitle you to a free CustomTacos mousepad.

I just painted my rear drums with high temp gloss black. The paint I used was VHT. Great stuff. They make a good selection of colors for high temp. I basically left the drum cover on when I painted them. I just sanded off the rust spots, cleaned the whole thing with acetone, masked around the drum with paint, and sprayed. The next attempt will be the front calipers in gloss red and fron wheel hub in gloss black (it's looking very rusty currently).

Performance products actually sells the paint set for the from calipers. I'm still a little hesitant to how it will look. Will you have more pics when you paint the fronts?

I'm hopefully going to paint the fronts this weekend and get some pictures. You can by two-part caliper paint sets for $40+, but I found the $8.00 VHT high temp rattle can is very effective and I have had no problems as of yet.
