Since it's such a large muffler (22" body), it will be pretty quiet. It will give you a deep grumble, but not too loud. I'm not sure how the outlet length will change the sound though.

 

You're going to get a nice tone out of that Magnaflow. Like the person above me said, since the muffler is so large, it will be quiet -- not much louder than stock, but with the added "performance" tone. You'll probably like it, unless you're going for loudness! :waytogo:

 

Nope I dont like too much loudness. A mellow deep tone is what iam looking for.

 

The thing I've noticed about magnaflows with my truck is that the larger the muffler the less it will sound rice but the more inside the cabin droning.
If you don't know what droning is, is that humming sound that gets inside your ears and head when crusing...

Also be advised that you will need a reducer because your exhaust pipe is 2.25" diameter.

sorry to be completely random, but what would the best muffler/ tail pipe be for loudness? or is it even worth doing? can you still hear yourself in the car?

If you want noise, don't bother with a muffler. Chop the pipe off after the post-cat oxygen sensor and it'll be as loud as it could be due to the lack of a muffler, and also the pipe exiting under the cab.

 

will that make passing an emissions test possible at all? also i dont know if im too comfortable just chopping somthing off me baby...

 

I have that exact muffler. It's not much louder than stock, except when you step on it - then it screams very melodically. It doesn't sound ricey at all. Has a very subtle but noticeably deeper idle. Does take about 1000 miles to break in (gets a little deeper). It doesn't drone in the cab while cruising. And I can be quiet when I want, but roar when I need to as well. It's how a tacoma should sound. You'll love it.

Its not installed yet. Iam waiting to get back home to install it. How deep is ur exhaust? what size engine?

 

To make it deeper put at least a 2 1/2 inch tail pipe on it with either are 3 1/2 or 4" chrome tip.... The bigger the deeper....and i wouldnt go any shorter that a 12" length....

 

so get a converter to convert the size of the outlet to a larger tail pipe???

 

you're going to love how it sounds. i've got it on my v6 and it sounds great.

 

Something like this. The back part 2.5" so it can slip over your 2.25" stock pipe.

 

I guess you won't need the reduceer any more because you went with a 2.25" muffler, huh? Get that thing installed yet? It should be considerably louder than the one you first posted due to the smaller size.

 

Not yet. Iam away from home due to work but I should be back home shortly to install it. I hope its gonna be louder but not ricey
