ok, so latley a bunch of crap keeps geting done to my truck, and i want a alarm. now i know the prev owner had a alarm in it.(locktronics sticker on window,a kill switch with a special key) but everything else was taken out. so what is a good alarm that i can have installed and it not break the bank.
i looked in a pennysaver and in the advanced car stereo and alarm ad, they have a alrm kit that consists of: two remote transmitters, silent alarm(is that even a good thing),intrusion alert, malfuncining senser alert, auto or manual arming, persinal panic,LED,valet, flashing lights. an dits all for 50 bucks, and caryy out is ok so i dont get raped on install, even though i would probally have them do it. but the ad says lifetime warranty, so idk what do you guys think

thanks

Take it to audio express if you want your rig to light on fire. Or bring it out to me and I'll do it for an even hundy. You got to pay for your own gas though.

Thats install man. Realize you get what you pay for and with certain things you cant skip out on the price.

yea i know, but gas to get me to az would be crazy
Im not trying to make light of your financial situation but can you even buy an alarm and have it installed for $100 bucks?
Yeah it was a joke bob. And no B you can't. U'd be lucky to find a decent alarm for an even hundy last I checked.
pacific stereo quoted me at 120 installed, but idk if my manual door locks will add to the price?

A basic car alarm has one or more sensors attached to a siren. Most modern car alarms have various sensors, a distinctive siren, a radio receiver for remote control, an extra battery so the alarm works even if the car does not, and a small computer control unit that is the system's "brain." Typical costs:
  • Starting prices for basic car alarms are $50 -$250 for a siren attached to the vehicle's existing wiring system, one or two remote controls and a simple controller/brain; those at the higher end of this price range may have a back-up battery and/or a few more sensors than the lower-priced alarms.
  • More advanced vehicle security systems run $300 -$850 or more, providing a greater number and more varied range of types of sensors, a sophisticated computer controller and options such as a camera or a remote ignition starter. Many of these security systems can be wired to disable the ignition starter or cut off the gas supply if an intruder is detected.
  • Installation starts around $50 -$200 for an extremely basic alarm in a car with easy access to the dash and wiring, but can run $250 -$450 or more to install a complex security system in a car with limited or difficult access inside the dash.
  • Total costs will depend a great deal on the alarm system chosen (the more complex it is, the more difficult it is to install) and the make, model and year of the vehicle. As a general rule any type of labor costs more on a luxury, high-end vehicle than on a lower-priced standard sedan
