HAHA that just reminded me of this one kid I saw last night when I was leaving the movies. He had a new Explorer Ford and he had blue LED under body neons flashing different patterns, blue strobes the cheap ones. and all these blue lights. And he kept driving around trying to show off lol.

 

I'm not sure how you'd get that effect with one or more basic relays ... :shrug:

also what type of light i need to get for the map and dome


i want to put a red one on one side of the map and a blue on the other and a led in the dome so when i go party in the field i can scare the crap out my friends

 

The map lights are 194's. This would be pretty sweet if you could figure it out. I might have to try the same thing.

i think festoon bulb de3022 works and i also found a switch to make the leds blink 2.5 times a second but i have no clue how to wire i am only 17 and i doubt my dad would want me to be able to do that so...idk about the whole strobe light idea

 

autolumination.com has them if i go to auto zone think they would have that and help me install them?

 

lol autozone carries the yellow stuff... not really any nice lights. I just checked the other day and ordered on autolumination. Autozone is also one of those things that depends on your area... my autozone has people that are not so bright, but hopefully they know what they're doing, but interior lights are pretty easy to do.

Map lights - pop off lenses with screwdriver on the side and you can pull the stock ones out

Dome- screwdriver on the side to pop off the lens. The cover will hang there or you can wiggle it out, but to get the festoon out just pry it out. No big.

 

how u get the lights out of the map i tried but that metal reflector is in the way do i take that off to get the light out?

 

Use some needle nose pliers and pull from the base of the bulb. I assume you got the lens off.

 

i got the plastic lens off but they got like a mirror type circle around them

think a 17 year old can rig the map lights to turn on when the door opens? and install the leds strip in the bed and ones in front of the bump or will autozone help me?

 

if not needle nose pliers basically just wiggle them out until they pop out and yeah the reflector parts aren't too fun to get out

 

I know it has been a while since the last post on this thread, but as foar as the blinking LEDs go... They make LEDs know with built in flashers. They look exactly like regular LEDs but they flash. The LEDs I played with had a 1Hz frequency, but I would venture a guess that they can make them flash at any rate.

...why do you want your dome/map light to flash? You wont be able to see very well.

 

most strobes aren't timed exact..

 

Not to mention they can trigger an epileptic seizure.

 

if they have the same power deal commin to each one of em, they will be sync'd up..

its when you have 3 seperate strobes independant of each other where you'll get em being a bit off from each other..

 

or you can do it the easy way....
