Just out of curosity...how many of you taco owners are into the import racing scene? Would you consider yourself a minitrucker, import racer, or maybe even a little bit of both?

As for myself...i would have to say import racer. Don't get me wrong. I'm in the minitruckin' scene but in the end...i want my taco to have that "import" look. I wanna be LOW...but i don't wanna be TOO low. 3/4 drop...maybe a 4/5 but no lower than that. Racing rims and a bodykit sounds sweet to me...but i know some of you may think other wise. To each their own....but at least we all can agree on one thing...TACOMAs are bad ass trucks!!! -Check this out though....there's a Nissan Hardbody truck around my area (Virginia Beach, VA) with a Nissan Silvia engine and i think he's spraying too. It's crazy!- Later...

I like both personally. I actually like cars more, but since i have a truck i'm down with it now. You can do so much more to trucks than cars, as far as lowering is concerned. But both worlds are cool as hell. I agree with you too, i like seeing guys with their cars slammed to hell, but i wouldn't go to the extreme either. The next thing i'm doing after i get out of debt is going lower. 4/5 or 5/6 drop at the most.

I started out as an Import Racer (Honda CRX Si Turbo) but now since i got my 2002 Taco reguler cab, I guess i'm a minitrucker now. Its bone stock right now. Anybody know if DJM 3/4 kit fits the 02 Tacos?

Hopin for more of the import racer look, although the 2.4 doesn't seem like it can do the job i'm looking for. I'll fullfill that with my street bike i should be getting in a few months : )

when i first got into the whole auto scene, it was imports all the way. But i ended up with a tacoma (which i hated at first) but im only 18 - its what my parent gave me, but now i like the truck and i appreciate it. I find the import scene more appealing but im totally down with slammed bagged and tweeded trucks all the way. i just wish there was a way to make this 2.4 faster. And im styling the truck more in the way of the rice rockets.

Well, I guess I'll break the string here: I'm a mini trucker. Forever. There's just nothing better than slamming the hell out of a mini.

Going fast is cool and I've got some plans for some performance stuff, but it's not my main concern at all.

Well i take the best out of both worlds....air suspension/ performance...I bagged my taco back in 97 and when i went to the street runs, people were like why in the hell is this minitrucker here? Well after a few passes and some nitrous shots later people realized my taco my wasn't all show.

I'm also a minitrucker 1st. I also like to go fast though. I would rather be body dropped and bagged than have the speed. I got the v6 for the speed though. I would rather go to a truck show than to the import races. I do go to both. I will be going to BLOOD DRAG next month in West Palm. For you 2.4 owners, you can do plenty to go faster. They make turbos and superchargers for your motor.

AWISEGUY4U- Sweet taco! You got a wing on that? What kind of front bumper? It's hard to tell from your pic.

travis-i hear ya, bro. i was the same exact way when my parents brought the truck home for me back in 96. i love the damn thing now!

EVERYONE ELSE- thanks for the replies....makes me realize that i'm not the only import TRUCK racer in here. minitruckers and import racers alike...the taco is definately THE TRUCK to customize! Round body style...curves throughout the body...ITS SEXY! *lol* later.

i'm a racer, then i'll slowly go towards the show and ricer look. because it's better if back up the "ricer" look. as of now i'm a sleeper. ask the many victims...heh heh

When I started out, I wanted to lower it and then turbo it but now i am thinking of putting it even lower and then just do an intake, header and exhaust. I always catch Little hondas and Integras reeving me or checking my truck out. I will usaully rev once or twice and then watch them waste their 500 dollar tires! It's great! HAHA

I think that ther is a fine line in between having a fast POS and having a truck look just as good or better then it performs. It's different for everyone and it will show in the way their truck is built. No matter what, i have respect for anyone that takes pride in the modifications that they put in their car, truck, or SUV. It is all about representing yourself.

Have fun doing what you have fun doing!

INACOMA

I am down for a little bit of both I guess.

Amen, INACOMA. That's the exact reason I also admire the big 4x4 Tacos. It's just a general respect and admiration for anyone who put that much effort into their truck and takes care of it. :)

Uh oh..I'm starting to get that warm fuzzy feeling...not, not THAT one..the one in my stomach. hehe:)

Good question dude! I would consider myself a very hardcore minitrucker! But at the same time i just put a turbo on my 2.4 with a autometer tach and am runnin' just under 200hp. I love both but when it comes down to it i am all about show. my roomate has a 2000 celica GTS with nos and kinda got me started on the whole racer thing and now i'm smokin the little import dudes before they know what hit em. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!

Check out the other Tacoma site, mostly 4x4s, Tacomaterritory.com There is plenty of info on the message board there about the 4 cyl supercharger. I wasn't aware of them either until I read that site. As to which is better, it seems to be a never ending debate.
