grill for 96

Helllo,
I hate the sealed beams on my 96. They SUCK. I dont mind the grill so much, would like a chrome better than the black but no biggie.
Is there a stock grill, different year, with better headlights that would be an easy if not direct swap?
Thanks

You can transplant a 1995.5 - 1997 grille alone, but that won't resolve the headlight unit issue.

It is possible to transplant either a 1998 - 2000 or a 2001 - 2004 front clip (the whole set of front end exterior pieces) onto a 1995.5 - 1997 Taco.
Mine sucked too. The reflective coating inside had come off almost entirely. I went to Autozone and picked up a couple new Silverstar sealed beams. They were $20 each, so for $40 I drastically improved my lighting.
they sell headlights for our trucks that arent sealed and i swapped in some hid's and i have no complaints

Not sure the brand but they are off of ebay. They give you the bulbs too. They aren't very expensive at all either.
Thanks MJB, I am going to look around on ebay now. As the truck sits now I never take the lights off high beam and have never been brighted by oncoming traffic and I drive to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Even replaced them and idn't make a damn bit of difference.
I also plan on adding some driving lights in the valance as funding allows..three kids with huge appetites limit the taco fund. Not to mention a mortgage that is even hungrier!
yes sr!! i bought a set off ebay! best thing i have bought off there, type in toyota tacoma headlights and about 1.000.000 will pop up!! and they are dirt cheap! you will pay more to ship them than to buy them:selfbonk:
So I assume I need to get kit with ballasts so I can get the things hooked up in one whack?

im not sure what :ballests: are.... mine came just like a normal sealed beam, and you juts take the 4 screws out of the ring thing that holds the light in.. it took like 5mins

they come with pulbs that plug right into the stock harness no need for ballasts unless you want hids, but thats a completely separate buy
H4 bulbs?
