just called my buddie he said that the base line is a stock comparision ....meaning they take stock specs in the comp then run the test this shows the difference in stock and now (when the dyno-ed it )He say the test is for hp to the wheels, however not a complete and accurate reading . He said all they look for in a base line is to see if there is some thing wrong before you start beefing up the system . Mine was good ...

He says he's running 240 at the wheels now, 142 at the wheels before starting mods (stock) which is exactly what Toyota indicates the 2.4l at.

Tacomaspeed: man, I bet that thing absolutely flies, I imagine it's nice to see in action. :p Can't wait to really get started on mine, only had it about 5 weeks, went straight to the sound system first, can't drive without it. I plan to take my time and make sure I do things just the way I want it the first time around.

For audio I've got the AIWA CDC-MP3 head unit, which I love, I have such an extensive archive of mp3s it would take me forever to put it all to standard audio CD, not to mention my truck would lean from the weight of all those disks! 2 way Infinity's in the doors and rear (extra cab) running straight off the head, it's fairly powerful 45wX4 channels, then running rear preamps out to a sony amp under the passenger seat feeding a Vega 8D4 dual voice coil sub, which I custom mounted into the rear cargo hole under the passenger side jump seat (where to road tools used to go), it sounds really good in there too, and I didn't have to sacrifice my 'little' back seat to a speaker box, I have 2 young sons that will fit perfect back there in a couple of years! Next comes minor engine mods and some body/suspension work, gotta get that bad boy down to earth!

BHP is just horsepower that the motor is CAPABLE at that point in time of pushing. It's not Rear Wheel HP, it's just the HP to the wheels, thats the actual power your PUTTING on the ground.

if the vehicles says 170 HP like the Si when they put it to dyno to get RWHP they will get less HP. its because the calculation from the manufacturer was estimated. the vehicle are not tested for accuracy. those HP are just estimated HP

but Kevin if the let say my truck. 142 stock and i added intake
(7 hp), exahust (15hp) and headers (15hp) total of 179HP is just estimated HP. But put in dyno to get the accurate HP probably all this upgrade you will get less than 179HP.
