Easy way to remove the black paint on your stock grill for a FREE chrome grill. ****test in an unseen spot 1st***** I used GoofOff and a toothbrush to remove the factory black paint around the headlights and the entire center section(before the billet grill) and also on the part under the billet grill. It's easy, just took a couple hours.

It's factory chrome and looks better than the flat black paint. I removed the center section for the billet grill so the only place you can tell is around the headlights and the center section under the grill. I will take a front end pic soon.

I just wanted to add this may not work on the base model stock type grill. What this works on is a chrome grill, but you can remove the black sections by using the goofoff to give a completely chrome grill. Go to the gallery and look at the area around my headlight. Now look at the pics for jm350. Look at the same area. Notice the difference. All that black paint will come off. The black center section will also come off.

use [image]xxxxx[/image]. will more of that come off and does it look chrome just like the main part of the grill? It looks dull. Is that because you need to get more of it off or is it not shiny chrome like the main part?

Thanks for the tip Jason. I did it this weekend. It took some time and patience (I didn't remove the grille) but it's worth it. After completing the project I realize that it probably would have gone a lot quicker if I were to remove the grille.

It should be shiny like the rest of the chrome on the grill just like the pic I posted in this thread of the blue tacoma. Maybe the process for the grills has changed since 95/96. ******If you try this, try in a small area so you can repaint it black if it does not come out shiny.*******
