Hey I was thinking about buying these headlights but I dunno seems a but weird for them to be just 9.00 even on ebay.......

Well first off, they're not HID. Second, those "projector" lenses are probably extremely cheap. There doesn't look like much of a housing for the cheapy blue bulb to make a reflection. yes they are way worst than stock and the projectors are not real projectors. Like bazzy said look at hidplanet.com/forums and let the knowledge flow

so basically I would have to make my own if I went with HID lighting?

buy the headlight with just a clear lens to start.then a projector, then ballasts and bulbs . then make a wiring harness, bolt the projector to the headlight after you take the lens off go check if the rotational direction is correct. then tighten everything reall tight and use thread lock. then make it look pretty, then put the lens back on. put them on your truck adjust your hight so the lower step is down about 2inch at 25 ft. amake sure the driver side projector is stright and the right side is curve towrd the left. and your done.
