clutch belt squeaking?

1264 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Speed Freek
i was wondering if anyone knows what this problem might be. it sounds like a belt squeaking under the hood and when i push the clutch pedal in, it tightens up and the squeak goes away. is this my throw-out bearing or is this just a belt that i can tighten? any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Have you checked your belts too see if they are tight?

Sometimes you can give a squirt of brake cleaner on the belts while it is
running (dont spray near exhaust manifolds it is very flammable) to see if
the sound goes away, if so you may have a loose or worn belt.

i think thats a warenty issue, check the TSBs
sounds like TO bearing... if warranty, cool. if not, suck (unless you can do it yourself)
Unfortunately it probably is a TB, too bad the trans needs to come out for that one, if there is a TSB the dealer might repair it at no charge, you can call the dealer and give them your VIN to see if your vehicle is affected.
