Guy wants 135 shipped its a 97 but reading this and his reply on Facebook he needs a 98 with electronic vss
I have a 97 2.4 with no tach, is this drop in?

Do you know (or can you find) the build date on your 1997 Taco?

I'm confused about part numbers ...

I was using the parts database at ToyoDIY to check the cluster components for a '97 2RZ XtraCab and to check for any differences between '97 clusters for 5-lug versus 6-lug Tacos.

The 1997 listings include components that changed between 5/97 and 6/97 (May / June). I'm therefore not sure whether the later ones might represent late-production '97s that used some components that were then used up through '00.

This May / June transition may represent a NUMMI shift from '97 model to '98 model production. However, my recollection is that new model year production didn't usually start until July or August.

To make matters worse, the individual components within the cluster all have their own individual part numbers. This means there's no all-in-one part number for the entire instrument cluster assembly.

I do notice that the part number for the tach cluster case (1995 - 5/1997) is:

83132-04050

If the cluster case part number matches this I'd tend to believe it's definitely for the 1997 model year.

I have a 98 2wd 4cly 2rz manual. Part: 83800-04110 with tach works. It is from a 98 4x4 4cyl 3rz manual. Plugged right in. Got mine on ebay for $199. Keep checking, they pop up time to time.

Slipped through my fingers this one did. May just add an after market tach and call it done
