can't find a 6" lift

1190 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  YelcoTaco
now that trailmaster has discontinued their 6"lift fabtech is the only option left. everywhere i have called has told me that fabtech is going bankrupt so no one is ordering anything from them.

can any one tell me if there is any truth behind this or if there is anywhere that might have the lifts in stock?

How about a Total Chaos lift. Maybe that`s too costly. Myself I never liked those Fabtech kits much because of the huge front crossmember. Maybe it`s time to consider a SAS...

Are you suggesting long-travel? Thats a totally different animal of a suspension. Aside from its price-tag, I doubt the OP needs LT.

Secondly, skip those drop-bracket lifts. They require you to cut the stock cross-member to clear the front drive-shaft, which means you can only go back to stock by having a frame shop reweld what you cut out, which can be big bucks because the work must be near perfect.

Read this thread, I cover the basics of why drop-bracket lifts aren't ideal and the many other and much better solutions for lift:

Thanks i really appreciate the advice. Twisted i had actually already read that thread and checked into the tuff country 5" but it won't work with the manual hubs up front. most of the trails i ride arent really to difficult, mainly just use the truck around the farm and for hunt'n. main thing i wanted the lift for was a little more height for cross'n creeks in the winter and stuff like that. i've been check'n into SAS i know where i can get the axels just don't know a whole lot about it as far as the pros and cons.
fabtech is still in business...its seriously funny how people tend to believe what they read on the internet when the internet is 90% BS...

I can call any offroad shop, 4wheel parts store, and/or custom shop and they will all tell me...FABTECH has part in the warehouse ready to ship out...:waytogo:

PRESS RELEASE “State of the Company”

Recently it has come to our attention that slanderous statements were recently made by our competitors that “Fabtech filed for bankruptcy and that is why they are not at the Offroad Expo.” This is not true. We are still in business today and functioning as we have for 19 years. It is no secret that as with all businesses today we are affected by the downturn in the economy. To aid us during these difficult times we have seeked out equity for the past few months and have obtained offers to support us in this area, which will come to fruition in the next 90 days. In addition to finding equity, we have analyzed our overhead and cut expenses to adapt to the downturn as we see fit. We do not need approval by our competitors for us to cut expenses such as the Offroad Expo. We make our own decisions that are not always understood by others. The decision not to attend the Offroad Expo was much like we did three years ago when we did not attend the Sema Show. Simply a cut in overhead expenses. Nothing more than that. The slanderous statements made by our competitors will be handled with legal action against the individuals within the companies that started the defamatory remarks at the Offroad Expo. These individuals have already been identified by name and have been presented to our attorneys for legal action. In closing it is unfortunate that our competitors feel that the only thing they have to talk about is us and not their own success. Fabtech is open for business today and ready to ship you the quality product that you have come to expect from the leader in suspension
