Hey all, which gives less wheel hop, blocks, or de-arched leafs? I want to drop my S-Runner for better handling, but I don't need wheel hop.... Thanks!

If that's the only options you are shooting for (blocks or de-arched leaf springs...) I would definitely NOT choose de-arched leafs for performance - they will be too weak and will cause axle "wrap". Blocks are better than de-arched leafs.

Now... you can find lowered leaf springs, which should be just as strong as the factory springs. Ideally, you would want to switch over to something dramatically different, like a 4-link or trailing arms for performance purposes.

Great looking S-Runner, by the way!

I have 3" blocks in the rear and 3" lower control arms in the front, and i have no hop whatsoever. It handles pretty damn good.

Cool! What kind of horsepower are you making? Do you do lots of burnouts? My S-Runner's blown, headered (as of today), and is runnin' an opened up intake. Until I get the limited slip, the right rear just goes up in smoke everytime I get on it from a stop. I do get just a bit of wheel hop though, and I was hoping the blocks wouldn't make it worse...especially after the LSD is in.

Ok, guys... break it up... no bashing in here. We're in here to exchange ideas and questions, not to see who can outrun who.

oh; come on...I was gettin' ready to go to SD...LOL ;•) I really do want to know how blocks effect spring wind-up though. With blocks, the leverage applied to twist the axle housing seems like it could be greater, 'cause it's further from the spring. I suspect that the blocks would increase hop, but I don't know.
