Hey everyone, I'm just wonderig what would everyone here suggest for a good sand tire. I live in southern Florida and there's tons of soft sand, and my problem is that my truck is only 2wd!! All I ant to do is go out drivin with my friends to a mud hole but u gotta go through sand to get there! I know u gotta get ur tires alittle flat but righ now I'm runnig on the stock enkie rims with low profile tires.

Right now I got my toytec 3" lift coming in the mail, I have a Trd off road Tacoma and I gotta get new tires soon cause mine are about bald. So what is everyones suggestions??

bfg at's are decent and you'll get good road mileage out of them too
For 2WD in the sand you need to run them at about 10psi and plan your parking spot ahead of time. They should be about 10.5" wide also. Momentum is your best friend. A/T's in front and M/T's in back. If that's not an option, it doesn't really matter, you're definitely going to get stuck sooner or later, so bring a strap. BFG mud terrains are nice. If there's mud I'd definitely stay far away from A/T's.:waytogo:

agree widest tire possible for your application will be the best. if your aiming for going to mud and just going through sand.. I would say an MT tire is best. from that point its just what brand is your preference.. People like BFG because its a 3 ply sidewall but others prefer the goodyear kevlar MTR.. depends on $$$$$$

does ur TRD model have a LSD or locker? I dunno the package options sorry.
Thanks, im not planning on going in the mud maybe just outer edge of it but nothing real serious, all i want to do is just go out and watch. but now i have an idea on kinda what to get (somewhat wide tires) is there anything that will fit the enkei rims that come from the toyota dealer??

Also has anyone heard Trxus STS tires??? anything good about it??

and yes Dmonkey it has the locker on the rear. as of price i wouldnt mind spending somewhere around the 150 a tire...if its a tire for its buck then yes i would pay the extra for that.
Sand is tough. It has no bottom. Atleast in most mud situations, a good mud tire will dig down and find something to grab. Either way, like said, you're going to get stuck, so be prepared.
I run Firestone Mud-Terrain tires on mine. They do really well in all sorts of stuff including snow. But then again, I also have 4x4 to save my ass if I need it. :D
I used to run BFG M-Ts but I didn't get many miles out of them, but they were flawless in the mud, sand, and rocks.
And oh yeah, just because a tire is called an "all-Terrain" tire, doesn't mean that it's good in all terrains... i.e. Mud. :waytogo: But as far as all-terrains go, BFGs are among the best.
lol nice sayin you got there shotshell "rather walk then drive anything thats 2wd" thanks to put me down like that..lol jk, but i guess i gotta look around see whats out there for me.

I wish you can test out tires befor you buy them!!
with a locker.. even a bfg AT that is wide aired down to like 8-10 will get you through sand.

however slow = stuck in most situations.. I also have no idea what the sand is like in FL
So here's what I found so far that I would buy, and fits my rim....has anyone have any of these tires?? And what would u recomend??

275/60r20 bridgestone dueler a/t revo. $209

275/55r20 yokohama geolander a/t $162-209

275/60r20 fusion xti $114-157

Firestone distination a/t $165 *
