BelltechCoil1.5"/PreRunnerleaf Spring 2.5"-Comparison- to Stock

800 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Stock Taco
Was on the road today and found the exact same color 2002 Tacoma Stock truck. What the hell? Took some pics for possible reference for anybody wondering what a 1.5" Front 2.5" Rear drop would look like compared to stock. Its the ground is slightly lower on the left ... But pictures always help.

Nice pic! That's a great comparison. Truck on the left looks killer, truck on the right looks like a fresh canvas begging to be dropped. :waytogo:
Thanks Beef, your opinions are held in high regard. Heres a another picture of the truck in the sun. It needs to go lower...

Lookin' real good Nor~Cal. I know what you mean too (I'd like to go from 1/2 to 2/3). :waytogo:

Here's a similar side-by-shot of mine and a bone stock Taco. btw, that's not the Taco lean, that's just the slope of where I was parked. And yeah, that ding in my bumper really bugs. I've got a straight one that I sanded and primed today. Will spray it with the same black wheel paint tomorrw.

Long time no see. Ya, the front and back bumpers are blasted, and dents removed. Just havent had the balls to have'em powder coated, "Color Matchin Sucks."

Although, not impenetrable to road debris, I would like to either have the bumpers chromed or powder coated, for the strong finish. havent decided yet, so far I thought of black nickel, anthracite, or any other type of black chrome looking, plating.

In light of powder coating. I need to keep testing color samples. I did my first test, and although the powder coat looks black chrome, it has a greenish hue to it. I am trying to get more of a greyish/bronze hue. I have been utilizing coors light cans for test samples, utilizing the mirror finish....unfortunately hadnt had enough time to sit down with a bunch of beer and test away. Its kind of a long process, "test." between the baking and the coats. Either all change powder or just coat the bumpers all black. Unfortunately, once you powder coat the bumpers there really isnt any going back. Might as well buy new bumpers.

We have any powder coat authorities on this site?

Damn Nor~Cal, sounds like your gonna have some sweet bumpers once it's all said and done. Black chrome would be sick. And yeah, powder is ideal for durability. Well, at least you've got an excuse to drink some Silver Bullets.:D
