I had one installed(Autometer - pod style). Tried it myself at first, but didn't want to mess with it. Take it to a professional odometer shop. It's about $50 to install.

piece of cake to intall yourself. i have an autometer 5 inch on my taco. if you need the tach signal wire location in the truck just let me know.

i wanted to add a tach in my truck but i didnt want one of those 5 inch ones... i was thinking of putting in one of the tacoma clusters that already has a tach...anyone tried this?

Where did you get that gauge pod that holds the tachometer in your Taco?

Also, what is the diameter of the pod housing hole? I am currently looking at one to purchase that has a 2 1/16" housing hole. Please let me know as I am really interested in knowing where you got yours.

It's a 2-1/16" pillar pod from Autometer. I purchased mine from J & M Speedcenter in Riverside, CA. The cost is about $20 for the pod and $40 for the tachometer. I'm not into the monster tachs so I went with this one. The shiftlight, however, was kind of expensive. For the the light and pill module it was $94.
