i've tried them both... have to say that the LC Engineering Header IS better, hands down.

both designs are solid, but the difference in flanges put the LCE header ahead. the flange that LCE puts on their header is custom made to fit the exhaust ports.

If you look at the Doug Thorley Header flange and compare it to the ports on the head, the DT header flange does not match the port shape and size, and restricts flow around the side edges.

Maybe with a little bit of port work, you could fix the DT header flange.

its like trying to fit a circle on an oval.

Being that this thread is older than my marriage (lol) and both kids put together, what's the call for 97 2.4 liter? Who's got the current hook?

I don't know what the current preference may be. As far as I know, Proteus' comparison (above) is the only head-to-head (no pun intended) comparison anyone ever posted. It's anyone's guess as to whether what Proteus found in 2008 still holds true today.

Missed the July 4 10%
Went to order after kids were in bed and I pusher into July 5. Gotta keep an eye on that lol
