hey i just bought a 1991 toyota pickup and its having problems.

it idles fine, but i can only give it like 1/4 throttle any more and it bogs and dies, (if i let off quick it will recover). so the plugs/wires/cap/rotor/maf sensor all have been replaced, n e ideas?

also removing the tps connector makes no difference.

Sounds like a bad TPS to me, if it runs the same pluged and unpluged, either a sensor or the circuit, most likely the sensor.

You should check the wiring, should have a 5 volt signal in one if the 3 pins (dont remember which one, check em all), to make sure you have a good circuit, with key on. If you get a signal, replace the TPS since it is the likely culprit.
check timing... i bought a 510 with a 22r in it, did full tune up and found that the last jack @$$ put it in wrong. the distributor was 180* off and the cap was wires 180* off to compensate... loosers... figured it out, screamed like a banshee!!!
i second the tps.... if not are you sure its getting enough fuel? pump? injectors? filter?
Those old style MAF sensors are really touchy. Make sure the little flapper door in there isn't hanging up on anything, that'll cause a problem like this. Also, make sure the cold start injector isn't stuck open. Seen that a few times.

I'm going to 2nd the timing issue with the dizzy...it doesn't like being too far off. :(
