2000-2004 Mustang Wheels. Anyone else run em?

I've been runnin these 16X7.5 Mustang wheel for about three years now. I picked em up from my boss when I worked at Goodyear. Some dude bought wheels for his Mustang and didn't want the old ones so they were just sitting in the back of the shop. Got em for 20.00 bucks a piece!

I am on my third set of 225-60-16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A Police tires. When I worked for Goodyear we all called em "persuit tires" because they were made for Police cruisers. At the time, we serviced all the cars for the San Carlos PD so we always had em in stock. We also supplied the County Sherrif Motorpool in Redwood City. They all used RS-As as well. These tires have great heat and traction ratings and they have more plys in the sidewalls, so they're pretty stiff! You can sit on an unmounted tire and they don't give much. They balanced well too, I got em all down around 7lbs on the roadforce machine. Smooth as a babys bottom on the freeway.:D

I PUNISH MY TIRES!!!!! and these tires have lasted the longest out of any good handling tire I have tried. I would recomend them to anyone.:waytogo::waytogo:

Let me know what you guys think.
Anyone else running stang wheels? If so, which ones? what tires?

I'm curious as well about who may be running Mustang wheels. I've run across some nice sets lately, 17-20"ers off of 'stangs for sale. Not sure what offset they are. Especially the staggered sets.

I've got 17" cobra replicas, not real ones

7.5 wide too
some real 9" wide cobras would be cool...in black chrome
but I wouldn't spend real money on that wheel
would need a pre taco rear end as pulling bedsides doesn't work too good
I'm just wondering if the wide rear from a Stang would stay under my SR flares. That's all I'm concerned about.

Which ones?

the 9" ones will fit under SR Flares
with like a 275 tire..probably not

but a 255...should fit smoothly with the flares:headbang:
I've been looking for a set of those. And while we're on the subject how are those pursuit's in the rain?

I like em. I had a set of Yokohama AVSdbs2s they stuck really well, but they didn't last long. I had BFG Radial TAs didn't like em, and now I've had 3 sets of the RS-As. These tires have been my favorite and have lasted the longest.

My truck pushes the front end quite a bit since it has no rear sway bar and I definitly notice it pushing more when it's wet. I don't blame it on the tires though. If I were to add a rear sway bar and a fatter one up front it would help keep the tires planted and they wouldn't wet sand themselves to death. I just keep it slow and smooth in the rain. Until I get my rear sway bar. But then I'll prolly just be drifting every corner and wearin out the rears. LSD would be nice too.

This was my comute everyday when I lived in San Gregorio. I love this road and have had lots of fun on all the roads on this mountain. looks good man. You just need that 2/2 or 2/3 drop now and that thing will be sittin clean.:waytogo:

Have you done the Elbo mod yet? Here's a cheap intake setup I pieced together for mine. http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142721
Thanks. 2/2 drop will be my next project, hope i can find some eibach springs.

Nice writeup:bow:
Yeah i've done the elbow and deckplate mods already. I like how you did the elbow mod though, look stock with the plastic piece still mounted to the fender.

I'll be there,

and:

I raised the front end up 2.5" or so though since then,
can't afford 4x4 fenders or skinnier tires..so had to raise it back up to a 4"ish front drop.
