im running 15x10 rims on 33 12.5s. im pretty sure 5 inches is the smallest you can go as thats what i have (3 inch susp, 2 inch body) and mine just clear. i have no rubbing but when the wheel is cut all the way it comes close.

also backspacing or offset could change that. i have 4 inch backspacing
not sure whats all done to your truck, but since you have the 4 banger, also think about power.

33x12.50 is a pretty big and heavy tire.

What do you have against the 4 banger? Mine pushes mine absolutely fine still getting 17 mpg. Don't under estimate it. It still gets up and goes with stock gears
pulls stuck jeeps pretty good... even with my lame goodyears haha
gearing and power are a big factor when jumping up tires. i went from 31's to 33's in the jeep with 4.11's and 4 banger and lost 5th gear. thats why i say that.

17 mpg isnt bad, but what does it get stock? 25-27? i dont know for sure, but taking a guess. just a couple things to keep in mind.

cant beat a toyota 4banger! :waytogo: with 31s i was getting 20 around town. now im getting 17 around town. still with 3.91 gears. i would take a 4 cylinder over a v6 anyday
X2 for 5 inches. i used to have the same setup as mentioned above and had no problems.:waytogo:

My tacoma has 33x12.50 tires, and 15x10 wheels, i have a 3" body and 3" coil spacer up front, also 2.5" add-a-leafs in the back, it clears it fine...little bit less priceyer too.
I was going to get 33" ProComp M/T on my truck but they rubbed the A-Frame, but they did not rub the actual body. I hear you need at least a 4" backspace on the wheels to sit comfortable. I do have a 3" suspension lift (Spacer and Add a leaf).

rim width has alot of effect on that. if you have a stock rim with 33 12.5 on it you may be able to clear the body. but with a 10 inch wide rim it will rub the body badly

So if I get a set of wheels that are 15x10 with a 4" backspace they will rub the body. If so tell me why. Just wondering because I'm looking at changing my wheels and tires this summer and I want my tires to protrude beyond the fenders. Or should I just stick with 32"s, instead of upgrading to 33's
I do not know about a 2002, but I have 33X12.5 on 15X10 wheels with nothing but a 3in. body lift, just barely barely rubbed. I already had a 2.5 suspension lift and slapped it on the front.

So 5.5" in the front for me. Not even close to rubbing lol.

On the other hand, my friend has an 89 just a 3in body lift and he probably has the same clearance as me. lol.
The back spacing on the wheels is crucial to make sure you aren't going to rub on your upper control arm. You can fit up to 35" tires on stock suspension if you cut enough of your fenders, bumper, wheel well and tub the fire wall. So you can def fit them with 3" of lift if you feel like cutting on the sheet metal. Otherwise you're going to have to lift around 4" to 5" with proper backspacing on the wheels.

Like mentioned above you may want to consider re-gearing. If it's a DD that doesn't see much highway then im sure you'll be fine. but if you drive highway a lot or actually wheel your truck off road you'll most likely be more aggravated by the larger tire than enjoy them.
