05+ 2.7 5spd swap to 4.0 6spd?

You would also need to replace the engine wiring harness (part of it is behind the dashboard) and ECU, just for starters....

It is possible, and it will work, but your opening a can of worms..

yeah i figured the computer and wiring would also need swapped i would probably want to get a complete totalled truck and swap everything out

dude don't swap to that 6-speed tranny. they're sh!t and have tons of problems.

just take that money and turbo your truck as it is.

:lol:When I drive the 6-speed '07 I always shift into reverse thinking it is 1st. I guess that is what the loud beep is for.

you have to jam it into reverse in our xr..

hella hard to get that bitch into reverse sometimes

You guys telling me that they put reverse next to 1st gear in the shift pattern ? Old muscle cars had that - what a pain in the ass it can be

the Total chaos Tacoma project truck swapped the v6 into the mini platform.....im sure its quiet pricey ...

Yeah 6spd sucky. And an V6 and 5spd auto is nice but pricey. Your better off doing a turbo and getting better mileage. Lighter and more HP. I had a 2tr before the X and it was hella fun. Hurt the motor though. Not a good tow rig. But when empty could keep up with V8 F150's and killer in corners.
