WCT Taco

Hey Guys, B here, this is my first time posting up a build here. I usually do it on my fb or on my youtube channel. But I want to share my step by step progress with all you guys in hopes that I can inspire and motivate my fellow CT-zenes in their own builds, help out and get help as well. My starting canvas is this extended cab 97 tacoma

Re: WCT Taco

First thing I had to do was lose that tailgate and rear bumper, and replace them with a shaved handle gate and a clean rollpan...

Re: WCT Taco

Next thing I wanted to do was get a bigger rear window. One that I could actually roll down and let the air in. So of course a 4 Runner window would definitely make that possible...

Re: WCT Taco

...I figured now would also be a great time to incorporate a Caddy CTS third brake light, replacing the tiny OEM one with a 36 inch long one. And as you can see, the size difference in windows is pretty obvious...

Re: WCT Taco

...alrighty then, now in order to lay frame, you need a bodydrop. I chose a 3.5 inch bodydrop... just enough to tuck any wheel up to 20 inches, yet not sacrifice headroom. kinda sucks when you're 6 feet tall. so I started chopping up the cab engine bay...

Thumbs up Re: WCT Taco

Usually when you bodydrop a truck, you throw off many measurements and end up having lots of clearance issues. No biggie, but all these little issues need to be corrected. For example, my hood won't close because my engine sticks out just a tad, solution... add that lost clearance by adding a hood "bubble". In this case I used a 99 Eclipse hood for my mod, check it out... ...till next week guys, keep them wrenches turning!

Arrow Re: WCT Taco

Hey Guys B here again, this week I went ahead and installed a sunroof on my Taco. I've always wanted to have one on my truck and because this particular model doesn't offer one, well it makes the mod even more cooler! For this project I decided to go with a 99 Eclipse unit. Because my Taco is extended cab and has that "step" roofline, I went with a tilt & slide (which is what the Eclipse has), that way when it opens it clears the roofline. Plus a traditional sunroof that tucks into the cab takes away valuable headroom, which I'm already scarce on due to my bodydrop... and there you have it! ...till my next post dudes, keep them wrenches turning
