1998 Tacoma wheels and suspension

I just got a 1998 single cab 2wd base Tacoma, was looking to change the wheels and possibly just drop the back low enough for it to sit level.

What are my best options?

I also bolted up these mustang wheels but idk if they’re any other fitment issues as far as hub eccentrics or something else i may be missing.

Re: 1998 Tacoma wheels and suspension

That's actually a really nice wheel package for these 5 Luggers, what year did those come off of? 09? As for just lowering the back like you said, I was debating the same over the full drop, you can check out the thread I started about the ideal way to lower. I'm still waiting on my frame so I'm still stock at this point but just to lower the back probably 2 inch blocks would be easiest to achieve what you're looking for. Just my opinion over the 4x4 leaf pack way

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution wheels are a perfect bolt on for our trucks, same 5x114.3 lug pattern and 67.1mm hub bore. Also, used brand name wheels are readily available (and affordable) with these specs over craigslist, offerup, facebook groups, and ebay. I sold my old Evo 8 wheels and am currently rocking 17x10 RPF1s with 255/40ZR17 Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (requires fender rolling and pulling).

Thanks matostaco, I'll have to keep a look out for some evo rims. The rpf1 is the best looking classic style rim that looks great on damn near anything I think.

I have some 1994-96 Mitsubishi 3000GT 16' wheels on my 98 XtraCab 2wd Base.
