Dyno S-Runner @ 200,000 mi.

Hey all,

I'm still driving my S-Runner daily and it has 198,900+ miles on it. Still running strong as ever, no smoke, no oil use and that's with running 0W30 synthetic. I have done zero repairs, only maintenance including brakes and a couple of clutches.

Anyway, I want to do a 200k mile dyno on it. When I dynoed it way back when, I got just shy of 275 hp and I would like to pull 300 hp this time. Engine and drive-train are solid so there should be no problem there. Since the dyno, I have only done a few minor improvements to the exhaust. Any ideas or help with squeezing a few more hp would be appreciated. See my profile to see my current mods.

Thanks!

Congratulations on your SR's longevity and good health!

What are these 'minor improvements to the exhaust' you've done since the last dyno?

Other than the exhaust bits, everything is still the same as when you did the last dyno - right?

Re: Dyno S-Runner @ 200,000 mi.

I just removed the back part of the exhaust and it now dumps in front of the rear axle. I'm running 0W30 instead of 10W30 synthetic, but that shouldn't make a difference except when the engine is cold. Other than that; still the same old truck. I've never tuned/programmed the UrD controller; don't really know how, but the program Gadget put in it initially works pretty good. He just guestimated the program for my mods but I've never checked it for fuel/air. I'm thinking a tune and maybe the next size smaller wheel for the SC??? Maybe upgraded coils?

You could get the blower ported and rebuilt by http://stiegemeier.com/services/supercharger-porting/

Not wanting to put that much $$ into it. I'm thinking about going from the 2.2" pulley to a 2.1". Maybe reprogram the fuel maps but I don't know how. I'm pretty good with mechanical things; not so much with programming and electronics. Maybe someone in my local area could help?

2.1 pulley is an upgrade, assumed you were already at 2.0 !

Water / meth injection, and re-tune will help. Definitely will want a pro for the tune.

What would be interesting is to see how much power it is putting out now, and if you lost any / how much over all these years/miles.

I agree; I think I'll see what it is putting out now before I do any upgrades. Just 500 more miles and I will be at 200K.

Re: Dyno S-Runner @ 200,000 mi.

BTW; I did the dyno and I am down .5 hp... Dyno guy said it is going lean at the top end so it's time for a new fuel pump. Bought one, but haven't installed it yet. Now at 230,000 miles it needs shocks, ball joints, steering rack boot, and I may as well upgrade to poly bushings all around.

0.5 hp? That's within margin of error of a dyno. Is it the same dyno you originally ran on (if not, the reading from one has no relation to the reading from another)? Even then, wear and tear could cause the same dyno to shift over the years.
