Hi Lloyd,

I don't know much about that but it sounds like maybe when you added the 3 inch extension onto the filler tube, did that lower the vent tube at the top & if so that might cause it by not letting the gas pump nozzle to go past the vent tube thus not letting the fuel to vent and filling up your gas tube and then shutting off the pump.

That's a good theory ... The cut-off thingie relies on air pressure, and adding the extension may have screwed with the setup.

The extension is half way, slightly topside . Gas shuts off right away like its going nowhere. I think Im going to take it completely apart. What about the tube that runs along side isint that the vent?? I would thing with all these lifts sold that this would be common issue and its not here at Custom Tacos.

Re: Gas station nozzles keep cutting off

I just figured out why it takes forever to put two gallons of gas in my truck. there is a flapper with a spring at the bottom of my gas tube in the gas tank. I just bent the spring back and finally my truck takes gas normally. Two years of putting five dollars at a time because I did not want to wait.

Hi Lloyd,

I'm glad to hear that you found the problem, it's always nice to slove a problem.

Re: Gas station nozzles keep cutting off

FYI, another cause would be the vent tube being bent. I had one of the clips holding mine come off and the dealer fixed it, said the vent tube was kinking. They secured it and hasnt happened bad in a while.

Re: Gas station nozzles keep cutting off

If there's a problem with the venting or venting pressure back at the tank, it might be throwing an emissions-related code.
