Excitement Builds for 2005 Tacoma Lineup

Excitement has been building lately in anticipation of the fall unveiling of the entire lineup of next-generation Tacoma.

  • PickupTruck.com posted some photos back in March of a pre-production Tacoma that was spotted near Los Angeles, CA. The truck was covered in lots of camouflage to mask its appearance. See the full article here >>

  • CarConnection.com spy photographer Brenda Priddy posted two spy photos of a truck that is believed to be a pre-production model of the 2005 Tacoma Double Cab. The truck she captured on film was missing most of its camouflage, adding to the excitement that this may be a good indication of the Tacoma double cab that will be announced this fall. Here are her spy photos:

  • Various rumors around the 'net point to a new manufacturing plant in Mexico that will reportedly be producing Tacomas by year 2005. No word from Toyota if these rumors are true. All current Tacoma models are produced in Fremont CA at NUMMI.

  • Meanwhile, users all over the 'net have been composing their own mock-ups of what they believe the rest of the 2005 Tacoma lineup will look like. Site reader Zach Bazzy sent in his mock-up of what he believes the 05 4x4's will look like:

If you have spy photos of a pre-production 2005 Tacoma or mock-ups that you think others would find interesting, send them in or post them in the forum!
