The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration discovered during a recent side-impact crash test that a fuel hose couse be damaged and cause a fire. The recall affects approximately 123,360 Tacoma trucks manufactured from 2001 through February 2003. Reports indicate that Toyota will install a fuel hose protector for the affected vehicles.

The recall affects only model year 2003 trucks through February. Toyota made a manufacturing change at that time to correct the problem.

Those owners with affected vehicles should be notified starting in July.
