2005 Tacoma Prototype Spotted

Edmunds.com has posted a photo of what they believe to be a prototype of the next revision to our favorite Toyota truck.

Here's the photo:

From the looks of the photo, it appears as though the next Tacoma will take front-end styling cues from it's SUV counterpart, the 4Runner. The grill appears similar to the one seen in the latest revision to the Tundra full-size. Other noticable changes include larger mirrors, and door handles similar to what's currently seen on the 4Runner and Tundra. Also, the bed appears to be missing the distinctive body line seen on all Tacomas since their introduction in 1995.

If nothing else, this photo confirms that the proverbial winds of change are certainly blowing for the Tacoma. What's your opinion of this spy photo?
